NHMS Parent Updates

August 10, 2023

RESPECT. CONNECT. GROW.

Transportation change notes and doctor/appointment excuses should be turned in to the front office by students upon arrival at school or during homeroom.  Students will not be allowed to ride a bus home with a friend unless they have a note that has been stamped by the front office.

THANK YOU FOR ENSURING YOUR CAR RIDER NUMBER IS PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED

Next week is the last week that we will offer Dress Code reminders.  Please familiarize yourself with the Dress Code in the Agenda.  Shorts, skirts, and dresses should be no shorter than 7" up from the bend of the knee.  No holes in jeans higher than 7" above the bend of the knee.  Thank you!

NEW SPANISH TEACHER

Please join me in extending a warm Trojan Welcome to Mrs. Leddy Serrano, our new Spanish teacher.  She is a native speaker who hails from Puerto Rico and came to NHMS from World Language Academy.  We are delighted to have her as our newest Trojan Teacher.

YEARBOOKS for sale now!

CLICK HERE to find out how to order.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The only way to get a yearbook is to pre-order.  NHMS does not have money to put up front to purchase any stock to sell on campus.

Transportation is getting a new app for parents and guardians to monitor buses.  It is expected in September.  The MyStop app is no longer working.  Students can only ride a bus to their home address unless you make arrangements with transportation.  Students can ride a bus home with a friend if they bring a parent note.

September 7th is the LAST day students can attend school without proper proof of immunization

FREE and REDUCED Lunch applications are now available.

Scan the QR code to complete the application online.  Note that there is also a link to check the status of your application.  You may request a paper copy in our Front Office.  Please know that online applications are processed quickly and you will know much sooner whether your application is approved.  Many people who would qualify never even apply.  Did you know you can get a voucher for your child to take the SAT or ACT at no cost if you qualify for free meals?  Apply today!  We will have staff available at Open House to help you complete the form online on our computers if you need assistance.

District Accreditation

This year the Hall County School District is going through the accreditation process with an organization called Cognia.  As a part of this process we are collecting parent input via a survey.  We invite you to complete this survey to give us feedback about how North Hall Middle School is doing.  Would you please consider helping by completing this survey?  If you did the one for Cognia last spring there is no need to do it again, it is the same survey.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are performing and to provide suggestions for improvement.
