FBES 2022-2023 Student Handbook:

Our student/parent handbook for the 22-23 school year is digital.  Please click on this link to find our handbook for this school year.

FBES Families,

Welcome to March!  We have a lot of fun and exciting events happening at our school this month.  Please keep reading for all of the information on these events.

Ms. Heim-Broman has a musical performance planned for our fourth and fifth grade students on March 23rd.  Our fourth graders will perform at 5:30, and our fifth grade students will perform at 6:15 in the gym.  We hope all of these students' families can attend to support our students.  Families of fourth graders will be dismissed prior to our fifth grade performance.

Our media center is now closed to prepare for the upcoming renovation. All student library books are due.  Students have several ways to access books during our renovation. Students can access books electronically on the FBES Media Center Canvas page, which can be accessed on LaunchPoint (go.hallco.org).  Students should automatically have access but please email karen.hickey@hallco.org if you need help.  Two Little Free Libraries will be stationed in the FBES hallways where students can borrow and return books during the school day.  Teachers also have classroom libraries for students to utilize.  Students can earn badges by logging in their reading minutes via the Beanstack app on LaunchPoint.  We hope our students take advantage of these many ways to  keep on reading!

Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is coming March 20-March 23.  Parents can complete the registration application online at home or come to FBES to complete the online application anytime that week from 8-2 each day as well as from 4-7 on Thursday, March 23.  You can find more information about K registration farther down in the newsletter.

Spring picture day is coming to FBES on Thursday, March 16.  ONLY students who pre-pay for an individual picture will be photographed.  Class pictures will also be made on this day which will include all students.  Ordering information can be found below.

Please remember to label your child's coats, jackets, hats,  gloves, etc. with their names so lost items can be returned to students.

We are asking our parents to complete a parent and family engagement survey (found below) to give us feedback about our school and district.  Please keep scrolling to find the survey link.  Thank you for your time.

Previously Published information:

Have you used the My Stop app yet?  The My Stop App can be used to help parents track their child's bus arrival and drop off times from parents' phones.  You can find directions for the My Stop App here and Spanish directions can be found at this link

FBES is excited to welcome Deputy Nick Jackson to our school as our new Roving School Resource Officer.  Deputy Jackson will be on FBES' campus throughout each week, interacting with our students and conducting safety checks of our campus.  Welcome to FBES Deputy Jackson!!

Volunteer Application:  If you plan to help with any field trips this semester or with field day in the spring, please remember all volunteers must complete the two-step volunteer approval process in order to volunteer at FBES.  This process includes a questionnaire and training modules.  Both of these steps must be completed before you can help with field trips or field day.  This new process is to keep our students safe while they are at FBES.  The details about volunteering  can be found at this link.  Please allow two weeks for the approval email to be sent to you after you have complete the application process.

Students can only charge up to $10.00 at a time.  Items such as extra milks can not be charged.

Partners in Education

We love our Partners in Education (PIE's).  Their support of our school benefits our students and staff in a variety of ways such as student and staff recognition, school beautification, and school-wide enrichment.  Our primary request is for monetary donations in the amount of $100, $250, or $500; however, we also work with businesses who offer services to our school.  PIE's are recognized through our parent newsletter and school social media accounts.  If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Partner in Education for Flowery Branch Elementary School, please reach out to Amy Bright at amy.bright@hallco.org for more information.
