FAQs for the media center

Q: When can I check out a book?

A:  Any time!  The Media Center is open from 7:30-4:00

Q: Can I eat Lunch in the media center?

A:  Yes!  You need a lunch pass - sign up at the circulation desk.

Q:  How many books can I check out?

A:  You can check out a total of 6.  You are allowed to check out 2 fiction, 2 non fiction, or two manga/graphic novels (you can have a combination of books).  Only one reference book may be checked out at a time for a 24-hour time period.

Q: Do you charge fines?

A:  No.  We stopped overdue fines. If you lose a book, please come see us.

Q:  Can you give change?

A:  We are not allowed to give out change.  Sorry!

Q:  Can I print in the Media Center?

A:  Yes!  Copies are 10 cents for a black and white page, and 75 cents for a color page.  The computers behind the circulation desk are reserved for printing.  RACE students get 100 free copies.

Q: Can I get a book or series added to the media center collection?

A:  Yes!  Come see Mrs. Farr about adding a new book or series to the collection. Keep in mind that some books or series may not be added.

Q: Can students get items laminated?

A: Yes.  Business card laminating is 25 cents each. 8.5x11 inch paper is $1.00. Poster laminating is $3.00.  

Q:  What do you sell?

A:  Poster board (white 75 cents, color posters $1.00), copies, batteries (50 cents a battery), spiral binding ($1.00 per comb), earbuds ($5.00 each). 

We sell coffee for $1.00 a cup!

Q: Can I reserve the think tank or an e-Course room?

A:  Yes.  Come see Mrs. Farr, Ms. Chambers, or Ms. Gibson if you would like to reserve the Think Tank or an E-Course Room.
