Tip for Families:

Encourage Your Teen to Feel Capable and Valued

Experts say self-confident teens are better equipped to resist negative peer pressure. This helps them avoid behavior that can be risky or negatively affect their performance in school.

To build your teen's self-confidence, encourage:

• Honest communication. Teens must know it's OK to express their feelings—including anger and fear—without being teased or punished. Be a good listener.

• Cooperation. Well-adjusted kids know how to get along, even when they don't get their way. Help your teen practice the art of compromise. For example, talk together about which chores you'll each do. Discuss decisions that affect the family with your teen.

• Personal responsibility. Teens feel good about themselves when they do things for themselves. Assign meaningful tasks your teen can handle. Then, thank your teen and praise effort. Enforce consequences for neglecting responsibilities.

• Decision making. When you make all the decisions, your teen can't learn this skill. Allow your teen time to try to solve problems. Ask questions that encourage thinking and demonstrate how to brainstorm solutions.

Important Information:

Middle School Athletics: Hall County School District Middle School Sporting Events will have an admission price of $5 per ticket. There will be a flat fee of $15 for a family of three or more.

Car Rider Procedures:

In the morning, we will only have 1 line. This will allow our staff to enter the parking lot. Please do not pass the car in line in front of you as students may be exiting on the driver's side. We want all students to arrive safely.  In the afternoon, we will have 2 lines to get traffic off Fran Mar as soon as possible. We will merge in a zipper format in the afternoon at the indicated merge point. Thank you!

Insurance:

The HCSD offers student insurance through the company, Student Assurance Services. This insurance is supplemental to a family’s primary provider and will assist with added costs in certain situations. For more details, please refer to…

ATTENDANCE COUNTS :  Please ensure that your student is present at school each and every day possible from the beginning of the school day until the last bell.  Schedule appointments after school or on the weekends if possible.

Consejo para Familias:

Ayude a Su Adolescente a Sentirse Capaz y Valorado

Los expertos afirman que los adolescentes seguros de sí mismos están mejor preparados para resistir la presión negativa de sus compañeros. Esto les ayuda a evitar conductas que pueden ser arriesgadas o afectar negativamente su rendimiento escolar.

Para fomentar la autoconfianza de su adolescente, anima:

• Comunicación honesta. Los adolescentes deben saber que está bien expresar sus sentimientos —incluidos el enojo y el miedo— sin ser objeto de burlas ni castigos. Escucha con atención.

• Cooperación. Los jóvenes bien adaptados saben cómo llevarse bien con los demás, incluso cuando no se salen con la suya. Ayude a su adolescente a practicar el arte de llegar a acuerdos. Por ejemplo, hablen sobre qué tareas domésticas realizará cada uno y conversen sobre las decisiones que afectan a la familia.

• Responsabilidad personal. Los adolescentes se sienten bien consigo mismos cuando hacen cosas por su cuenta. Asígnales tareas significativas que estén a su alcance. Luego, agradéceles y elogia su esfuerzo. Aplica consecuencias si descuidan sus responsabilidades.

• Toma de decisiones. Si tú tomas todas las decisiones, tu adolescente no podrá aprender esta habilidad. Dale tiempo para intentar resolver problemas por sí mismo. Haz preguntas que fomenten la reflexión y muéstrale cómo generar ideas para encontrar soluciones.

Información importante:

Atletismo en Escuelas Intermedias: Los Eventos Deportivos de Escuelas Intermedias del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Hall tendrán un precio de entrada de $5 por boleto. Habrá una tarifa fija de $15 para una familia de tres o más.

Procedimientos para Pasajeros por Carro:

Por la mañana, solo tendremos 1 línea. Esto permitirá que nuestro personal ingrese al estacionamiento. Por favor, no pase el automóvil en línea frente a usted ya que los estudiantes pueden estar saliendo del lado del conductor. Queremos que todos los estudiantes lleguen seguros. Por la tarde dispondremos de 2 líneas para sacar el tráfico de Fran Mar lo antes posible. Vamos a confluir en formato cremallera por la tarde en el punto de fusión indicado. ¡Gracias!
