Tip for Families:

Discuss Expectations at Regular Family Meetings

You want your teen to meet your expectations, but have you communicated them clearly? You both lead busy lives, and it can be hard to fit in important conversations with your teen.

One way to connect is to schedule a weekly family meeting. Here, you can share what you expect. You can talk about progress your teen is making, and your teen has a chance to express opinions and be heard.

To make your meetings work, keep them short. About half an hour works well. Family meetings should also be pleasant—this isn't the time for criticizing or punishing. Sunday evenings over dessert might be a good time. Each family member should feel relaxed. That's the best way to share thoughts, feelings and goals. Talk about goals for each person and for the family.

Family meetings are also helpful for sharing important information. For example, your teen could talk about a school event that's coming up.

Ask your teen to write down important points that come up during the meeting, including new goals and agreements. Writing things down will also help to reinforce your expectations in your teen's mind.

Important Information:

Middle School Athletics: Hall County School District Middle School Sporting Events will have an admission price of $5 per ticket. There will be a flat fee of $15 for a family of three or more.

Car Rider Procedures:

In the morning, we will only have 1 line. This will allow our staff to enter the parking lot. Please do not pass the car in line in front of you as students may be exiting on the driver's side. We want all students to arrive safely.  In the afternoon, we will have 2 lines to get traffic off Fran Mar as soon as possible. We will merge in a zipper format in the afternoon at the indicated merge point. Thank you!

Insurance:

The HCSD offers student insurance through the company, Student Assurance Services. This insurance is supplemental to a family’s primary provider and will assist with added costs in certain situations. For more details, please refer to…

ATTENDANCE COUNTS :  Please ensure that your student is present at school each and every day possible from the beginning of the school day until the last bell.  Schedule appointments after school or on the weekends if possible.

Consejos para Familias:

Hablen Sobre las Expectativas en Reuniones Familiares Periódicas

Quieres que tu adolescente cumpla con tus expectativas, pero ¿se las has comunicado con claridad? Ambos llevan vidas ocupadas y puede resultar difícil encontrar tiempo para conversaciones importantes con su adolescente.

Una forma de conectar es programar una reunión familiar semanal. En ella, pueden compartir sus expectativas. Puedes hablar sobre los avances de su adolescente; además, su adolescente tendrá la oportunidad de expresar sus opiniones y ser escuchado.

Para que las reuniones sean efectivas, manténgalas breves. Una duración de aproximadamente media hora suele funcionar bien. Las reuniones familiares también deben ser agradables—no es el momento de criticar ni de castigar. Un buen momento podría ser la tarde del domingo, durante el postre. Todos los miembros de la familia deben sentirse relajados.  Es la mejor manera de compartir ideas, sentimientos y metas. Hablen sobre los objetivos de cada persona y de la familia en su conjunto.

Las reuniones familiares también son útiles para compartir información importante. Por ejemplo, su adolescente podría hablar sobre un próximo evento escolar.

Pídale a su adolescente que anote los puntos importantes que surjan durante la reunión, incluidos los nuevos objetivos y acuerdos. Poner las cosas por escrito también ayudará a reforzar sus expectativas en la mente de su adolescente.

Información importante:

Atletismo en Escuelas Intermedias: Los Eventos Deportivos de Escuelas Intermedias del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Hall tendrán un precio de entrada de $5 por boleto. Habrá una tarifa fija de $15 para una familia de tres o más.

Procedimientos para Pasajeros por Carro:

Por la mañana, solo tendremos 1 línea. Esto permitirá que nuestro personal ingrese al estacionamiento. Por favor, no pase el automóvil en línea frente a usted ya que los estudiantes pueden estar saliendo del lado del conductor. Queremos que todos los estudiantes lleguen seguros. Por la tarde dispondremos de 2 líneas para sacar el tráfico de Fran Mar lo antes posible. Vamos a confluir en formato cremallera por la tarde en el punto de fusión indicado. ¡Gracias!
