The Cherokee Bluff Theatre Department has been showcasing their passion for performing for the past six years, growing the program from the ground up. When participating in theatre, young student-performers gain a sense of value and learn more about their community. Countless hours of rehearsing scenes, building sets, and choreographing dance numbers, builds character and empathy that is essential to bringing our local community together. Students from all kinds of backgrounds leave their lives to come on stage as a performer and bring to life stories that leave both the audience and the cast a purpose.
The Cherokee Bluff High School Theater program exists to support students in building skills that will carry them through life, embodying the BEAR values of our community.
Be Innovative: We encourage creativity and innovative thinking in our productions, fostering an environment where students can explore new ideas and approaches- both on the stage and off.
Every Person's Story Matters: We believe that every student's unique story is valuable. We strive to create a supportive atmosphere where individual differences are respected, helping everyone feel a sense of belonging. We know our world has many stories and we look to tell stories on our stage that reflect our diverse and beautiful world.
Act with Integrity: Honesty and integrity are at the core of our program. As we work on productions, we commit to being truthful, courteous, and tolerant, building each other up in the process.
Respectful and Responsible: We emphasize respect and responsibility in all interactions. By setting clear expectations and considering our commitments outside of the theater, we ensure that everyone can be dedicated and manage their time effectively.
Serve Your Community: Our program aims to serve the community by promoting cultural exposure and helping students develop a global perspective. We encourage a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a desire for excellence, treating each other with respect and kindness to create a beneficial theater experience for all.
Through these values, the Cherokee Bluff High School Theater program prepares students with self-confidence, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, team building, and leadership, fostering a positive and enriching environment.
