Ramsey's Reflections

Happy Fall Bear Family!

A lot is happening here at the Bluff!  Our fall sports teams are heading towards the playoff / regional parts of their seasons.  Did you happen to catch the beautiful National Anthem sung by both our middle and high school choral groups? Our band continues to rock it at halftime of the football games.

Looking ahead, as the weather changes, so do the competitive seasons.  Theater is getting ready for One Act competition, and winter sports are gearing up.  Speaking of gearing, the Gear Bears, our robotics team, is coming together to compete in the next few months.

If you are new to CBHS, next week is such a treat!  It is Homecoming week here at the Bluff. The week is full of festivities.  Spirit dress up days, the Powder Bluff game, the parade and bonfire, all culminate in the football game Friday evening and the dance on Saturday.  We can't wait to celebrate as a community during these events.

Finally, be on the look out for a Parent Information Night on October 10th, and Fall Break, October 16-18.

I hope that you get a moment to enjoy the cooler temperatures and (hopefully soon) the change of colors in the natural world around us. If you haven't caught a sunset or sunrise around our campus, you are missing out! We have some of the most spectacular colors.

Take care, make good choices, and always, Go Bears!!

We need your helP

No matter where our students will find themselves after high school, there will be set expectations including things like dress codes and ids.  Some of our students are struggling to remember where particular items of clothing are appropriate. Attire for a football game or weekend activity are not the same as the dress code on campus.

Please refer to the dress code and visible reminder.

One of ways to make good choices and be a leader is by making good choices each morning!

Fall Sports are in FULL SWING!  We had our first football home game, our first XC event, our first softball game, our first mountain biking meet, and our first volleyball match!  Our band is amazing during halftime, as always!  All of our fall sports and activities are grinding and making Bear Nation Proud!  Make sure you look at our calendars above and catch one of our many events each day of the week.

As always, it is GREAT to be a BEAR!

Bear Achievements

Lola Cate Peck, Annie Gwinn, and Riley Smith pictured with Mike Lutzenkirchen of the Lutize 43 Foundation.  These 3 LEGACY student initiated bringing this program to CBHS for their Capstone project.

Students were given the opportunity to sit in the transfer truck to see their blind spots, and learn about safe driving on the roads around these types of motor vehicles.

A "trauma center" scene was set up to reenact a car accident where the person in the vehicle was prepared and treated to be life flighted due to texting and driving.

Mr. Lutzenkirchen and many other speakers spoke to the entire school about his story of loss to impact student drivers decisions when behind the wheel.

Cherokee Bluff High School was the first high school in the nation to host a Lutzie 43 event.  We are beyond honored and grateful for their program and time in pouring into our youth.  The Safe Driving Summit was an impactful event for everyone involved.  Thank you to all first responders, Lutzie 43 personnel, volunteers, students, Georgia Department of Transportation, and many others who made this event possible!
