I’m Mr. Leo Malonzo, and I’m a Science Teacher here in the Halifax County Early College. I teach Biology and Earth & Environmental Science, and I’m passionate about helping students develop a deeper understanding of the natural world through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. I strive to create a classroom where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and students are challenged to think critically and solve real-world problems.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology for Teachers from the Philippine Normal University and am a licensed educator in both North Carolina and New Mexico. My career has taken me through both education and corporate training—having served as a Learning and Development Manager where I led professional development programs, coached teams, and built meaningful learning experiences. This background has shaped my teaching approach to be student-centered, engaging, and focused on growth.
As a former homeroom adviser and lab instructor, I understand the value of mentorship and communication. I believe that learning works best when we all work together, and I am always happy to partner with parents and families to ensure that students reach their full potential—both academically and personally.
Thank you for trusting me with your child’s learning journey. I look forward to a great school year ahead!
