My name is Donetta Cherry, and I am a proud 7th grade English/Language Arts/Social Studies teacher at Enfield Middle S.T.E.A.M Academy, where I am honored to be a part of the PANTHER team once again. With 11 years of teaching experience, it is a privilege to work with and alongside incredible scholars, colleagues, and administrators.

I hail from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and began my academic journey at Elizabeth City State University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 2009. My passion for education led me back to Elizabeth City State University in 2011, where I obtained my Licensure in Middle Grades English/Language Arts, completing the program in 2013. I am certified to teach English to students in grades 6-9.

In December 2022, I furthered my education by earning a Master’s Degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. As I embark on new adventures, I believe the sky is the limit. Being recognized as the Enfield Middle S.T.E.A.M. Academy 2022/2023 and 2025/2026 Teacher of the Year is both an honor and a blessing, and I am deeply grateful for this distinguished opportunity. My passion for learning is unwavering, and I am committed to pursuing my dreams and aspirations to their fullest.
