In our classroom, we follow PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. These rules guide students in making good choices each day:
Listen to Directions – Following instructions keeps everyone safe and ready to learn.
Enter & Exit Prepared – Come to class with materials and a positive mindset.
Always Try Your Best – Put forth effort and never give up, even when learning is challenging.
Respect All Others – Show kindness to classmates, teachers, and school property.
No Excuses – Take responsibility for your actions and learning.
To support these expectations, Halifax County Schools has clear steps if rules are not followed.
If a student does not meet expectations, the following steps may occur:
Parent Conference – A meeting with the student and parent. (Note: Fighting will result in immediate suspension.)
Classroom Interventions – The teacher will provide strategies to redirect behavior, and parents will be notified.
Referral to Principal – The teacher and Principal will meet with the student to discuss further actions and support.
Alternative Plan – A plan will be created with the teacher, Principal, and/or SAT Team to support the student’s success.
Administrative Action – The school may take further steps at the Principal’s discretion to resolve the situation.
Together, these rules and expectations help us create a safe, supportive, and successful learning environment for all students.
