The goal of our organization is simple: to enhance the lives of the people we serve by providing opportunities for growth, independence, and fulfillment. Haley Street is always changing and adapting to the wants and needs of our participants.
Community Impact
Since the creation of our organization, our team has been able to make some serious strides. From corner to corner of our community, we've been able to create a change for the better. Haley Street has become a household name whether it's for the work being done in our Centre, or the great bargains received at Nora's.
Social Change
We have come a long way as an organization as well as a society when it comes to our view of Disabilities. We pride ourselves in expanding beyond the idea of "sheltered workshops" and are very involved and present in the community between our Social Enterprises, community employment partnerships, regular outings, and hosting community events.
Our Management Team
Amanda Evans
Executive Director
Amanda has 16 years experience with Haley Street starting as a 1-1 support staff for individuals with complex medical needs, and moving on to a management position for several years before becoming the Executive Director in 2022. Amanda is a licensed nurse, with experience in long term care and hospital nursing. Amanda also has a background in Office Administration and has dedicated endless hours expanding her knowledge on government policy and social issues.
Jillian Smith
Assistant Executive Director
Jillian has been with Haley Street for 8 years working in many roles from frontline support staff, Social Enterprise Manager, Covid Coordinator, and Finance and Office Administrator. Jillian comes with 20+ years experience working in the Disability Supports field between residential and day programs. Jillian has in depth training in the TEACH model, crisis prevention, and behaviour support as well as Financial Administration. Jillian has recently taken on the role of Assistant Director.
Jenn Hanna
Program Facilitator
Jenn has been with Haley Street for 5 years after working in Residential Services for many years as a CRW. Jenn has had many roles at Haley Street since she started including being the lead for IT and Database Management. Recently, Jenn has established and is leading a new Department which incorporates multimedia. Jenn has recently accepted the role of Program Facilitator and provides programming support for the departments and participants at Haley Street.
Ellen Keagan
Social Enterprise Manager
Ellen has been part of Haley Street for 30 years working as an Instructor at the Centre until 2013 and as Social Enterprise Manager for the last 11 years. Ellen has a lifetime of experience in the Disability Support Sector both personally and professionally. Ellen continues to work in a direct support role in a community setting as well as residential. With her combined experience she contributes a well rounded and informed perspective that remains essential to Haley Street.
