Celebrating Success

The Grade 12 Visual Art Exhibition was an overwhelming success!

"I very much enjoyed the art exhibition! I am taking Art HL and the Grade 12 Exhibition truly inspired me and my future art works! Congratulations to the art students for their hard work, creativity and perseverance." Noah W. (G11)

"Oscar Wilde said that, " Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has ever known." I was totally blown away by this exhibition. It was intense, sophisticated and the individualism of each student really shone through. " Miss Ranson (feeling a little choked)

"I was very moved by the depth and sensitivity of G12's work. G10 Art students said they were so inspired by G12 art exhibition that it has inspired them to take art for the diploma."

- Ms Dance (Art Teacher)

The art exhibition was structured effectively by adding temporary walls and the students had made great use of the available space.

This picture shows a section of Isla's exhibition which focused around the theme of violence. With sculptures, drawings and photography, Isla's exhibition was really one of a kind! For a 360 view, click here.

“A painting is never finished - it simply stops in interesting places.”

- Paul Gardner

This is an amazing interdisciplinary piece combining math, art and biology by Gwen! Her favourite is the beetle right at the top on the right hand side.

Gwen is so devoted to her art work that she allowed us to witness 'live art' - she actually completed the centrepiece on the day...

Fun fact: this piece took two years ;)

Daphni's exhibition (on the left) focuses on the theme of personal identity and memories and is very much centered around her own life and her childhood.

Anne-Marie's exhibition (on the right), entitled "The ones they call prostitutes, whores and sluts" serves to question her audiences on their view of the geishas in Japan, and the red-light district in general.

Here are some more pictures to enjoy.

Here is Gwen touching up (rushing) her bug piece!

Congratulation to Sydney!! Whooooooo!

C for Cooke!!!

By Lucy L. (G10) and Isaac B. (G9)

Recently, our very own humanities teacher received a medal for participating in the Mill Hill Marathon. She was raising money for the North London Hospice, where her stepfather's sister worked as a garden designer. She sadly passed away in June from a sarcoma and the marathon was organised in her memory. She put in a lot of hard work to train for the marathon and in the end it took her 4 hours and 47 minutes. The track was very hilly and muddy and she said it was the hardest marathon she has run. Well done to Ms Cooke for participating and working so hard to represent her family and help the sarcoma research! Can you tell from the pictures? She's just bursting with happiness! Congratulations!!!

CAS Achievement!

Back in mid-March, the fabulous Daphni in G12 organised a Charity Run to raise funds for Cancer Research UK! It was a such a lovely day and a huge success, allowing Daphni to raise over £130. Good job Daphni, and thank you to everyone who helped, participated and donated to help cancer research.
