Center-based Learning

Center-time is an opportunity for children to explore concepts, develop language and social skills and engage in meaningful and playful learning experiences.

Center time lasts at least an hour each morning and children choose where they want to work and play

Language, math, literacy and social emotional learning are integrated into all areas. Science, social studies and the arts are also integrated.

Study-related activities are added with each unit of study.

Staff join children in the centers, engaging them in conversations, developing skills and joining in play.
