This year, the Hebrew Academy reopened the HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' dorm! The dorm has four girls from Pennsylvania, New York, and Arizona. The dorm counselors are Chelly Minkowitz from New York and Chana Reicher from Melbourne, Australia. One of the dorm's many amazing qualities is the Sunday trips which are the Dormies’ favorite. Some trips the dorm has gone on so far are biking, dinner in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, picnics, swan boats, and the beach. Every Sunday is a new adventure in the dorm!

High school is a time for self-growth, fun, and creating everlasting bonds with classmates. To ensure these experiences are fulfilled, the Hebrew Academy provided high school girls with a memorable trip to Palomar; a place full of nature and gorgeous scenery that can be viewed everywhere you look.
The high school girls participated in activities such as boating, hiking, witnessing a beautiful sunset, painting, dancing with friends, a bonfire sing-along, and much more. The outdoor activities showcased the beauty of nature and gave them time to value the depths of G-d’s work. This was also a superb opportunity for the high school girls to spend time together, embracing friendship.
Each morning before Davening, the girls enjoyed a powerful meditation session. This facilitated the development and enrichment of a spiritual connection with G-d.
The Palomar trip served as a wonderful break from academics since it focused on team building, personal growth, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

The festive family-oriented Fall holiday, Thanksgiving, arrived shortly after the high school girls' Palomar trip. To mark this occasion, the high school girls gathered for a celebration called "Friendsgiving". This unique tradition was a way for the high school girls to come together and celebrate their very own Thanksgiving with one another.
The Thanksgiving mood began with the splendid decor in the dining room. A number of students had thoughtfully selected items from their own homes to prepare for this special event. From golden streamers on the wall to personal name cards with assigned seats for dinner, the attention to detail helped make the event a huge success.
The Friendsgiving celebration included delicious food and game night, followed by dancing all night. Before the girls were served dinner, they had to find their seating arrangements. Remarkably, these seating arrangements were arranged to facilitate the development of new and lasting friendships among friends old and new. Therefore, the organization of the Friendsgiving in Palomar made it a great way for the girls to share common interests, create new connections, and above all, establish new friendships.

The high school is putting together a Student Council led by our very own history teacher, Ms. Zahoryin! The Student Council enfranchises students by giving them a voice as well as a platform to create meaningful changes to enrich the Hebrew Academy.10th-grade
First, each candidate made a campaign poster including a picture of themselves and a catchy slogan. Next, these posters were printed and posted around the high school. Following that, candidates made a 2-5 minute speech expressing what they would like to do as a leader. After hearing the speeches, students voted for the person whom they would like to represent their grade.
The winners are Lila Levin as the 9th grade representative, Tali Weingarten and Rochi Lewkowicz as the 10th grade representatives, and Charna Greenman as the 11th grade representative.
The student council will meet once a month and have small but integral jobs to help enhance our high school. This committee plans to bring a great deal to the table by adding a canteen and extracurricular activities, along with many other campus improvements.
