Begining this Spring, the HHSAA and BIIF will be introducing Surfing as an official sport of Hawaii.
Doesn't HAAS have a Surfing club and Surfing Class? Yes, however there are differences between the club/class and the BIIF Surfing team.
HAAS Surfing ClassÂ
- Facilitated by HAAS as an elective class during school hours
- Requires Surfing Physical Form
HAAS Surfing Club (Summer/Fall June - August) Honua Finals Competition
- Facilitated by ASC and HAAS SAC (Student Activities Coordinator)
- Requires Surfing Club Physical Form
- Competes in the Honua Finals
- Junior Lifeguard Certification
BIIF HAAS Surfing Team (February - May)

- First meeting in January when we return from Christmas Break
- Tryouts in FebruaryÂ

- Compete for a spot at the Hawaii High School State Tournament in May
Great job to the HAAS Cross Country team (LT to RT: Carbon, Benny, Rico, Coach Crystal, Lanakila, Joaquin, Noah and Khalil) for participating in the BIIF Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 25th at HPA.
Special CONGRATULATIONS to Carbon, Benny, Rico and Lanakila for qualifying for the HHSAA State Championships on Saturday, November 1st. We wish you the best of luck. The HAAS community is extremely proud of you.

Prior to each sports season, HAAS, along with Hawaii Keiki provides free sports physicals for those interested in particpating in both Middle school or High School sports. All registered athletes and their parent/guardians receive an email when registration for these physicals open.

Conditioning forGirls Volleyball began earlier this month (June 9th)Â to train their bodies for the upcoming fall season. The girls also learn the basics and fundamentals of the game for those that are just beginning.Â
The girls will be put to the test to bring what they know during tryouts
Since late May the students have been conditioning and training for the upcoming football season that begins on July 21st.
They have been training at the Billy Kenoi Field, PHS Field and Fitness Forever on Pahoa

Welcome to the HAAS Athletics Information page. On this page you will be able to register to participate in sports and you will find information regarding home school sports participation should HAAS not offer a particular sport.
All students interested in sports must complete an online registration form and complete a HAAS Sports packet which include parent/guardian consent forms, Concussion management form, HAAS Athletics Consent forms and sports physical. Packets are available at the HAAS Main office and during my office hours.

Home School Information:
If HAAS doesn't offer a particular sport, the student must participate in sports at their Home School. The home school is determined by the student's residental address the school has on file for the student.
If the home school doesn't offer a particular sport, the student may not participate in the sport in question at the neighboring home school.
To determine a student's home school, please use the HIDOE home school finder.
Once you determined the home school, please click on the eligibilty requirements for each of the schools.

Each School has different requirements in order to participate in sports
HAAS would like to offer a shuttle van transportation service to the home schools of Pahoa High and Keaau High School for after school sports from Monday to Thursday.
