Hawaii Academy of Arts & Science PCS began implementing the Choose Aloha social emotional practice during the 2019-2020 school year. The Choose Love Enrichment Program (TM) is a no cost Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K through 12th grade, Lifespan, Character Development, next generation Social and Emotional Learning program that teaches educators and their students how to choose love in any circumstance and helps them become connected, resilient, and empowered individuals. These skills, tools and attitudes have been proven through decades of scientific research to be the best way to ensure a healthy, meaningful and purpose-filled life.

There are four components to the Choose Love practice.
Courage - Courage is the willingness and ability to work through obstacles despite feeling embarrassment, fear, reluctance, or uncertainty. We will be learning about courage during quarter 1.
Gratitude -Students learn that gratitude is mindful thankfulness and the ability to be thankful even when things in life are challenging. We will be learning about gratitude during quarter 2.
Forgiveness - Forgiveness means choosing to let go of anger and resentment toward yourself or someone else, to surrender thoughts of revenge, and to move forward with your personal power intact. We will be learning about forgiveness during quarter 3.
Compassion in Action - Compassion is the understanding of a problem or the suffering of another and acting to solve the problem or alleviate the suffering. Students apply their empathy and communication skills to support one another through compassionate action. We will be learning about compassion during quarter 4.
This program was designed to teach the principles of Choosing Love in a flexible, easy-to-learn format. It’s ideal for PTA meetings, book clubs, community groups, or as a stand-alone program for parents and caregivers. Choose Love For Home offers 3 different learning modules that are family-friendly and fun, with crafts and activities for all.
You will need to register and then you will have access to all the FREE information and support lessons to help you navigate and incorporate Choose Love with your Ohana.
