Overview

Candidates will gain extensive knowledge in creating 2D constrained drawings as well as learn the fundamentals of Solid model creation, modification, CAD for CAM preparation as well as Model reparation using direct modeling techniques.

Pre-Requisites:

Candidates must have experience in Windows based applications

• DESIGNER Interface

• Detailed introduction to DESIGNER Interface

• Preferences- Introduction to ‘Preferences’. Understanding the default settings and customization of settings for user specific applications.

• Introduction to Hot Keys.

• Wireframe

• Mouse functionality- Understand the mouse functionality in DESIGNER

• Creating simple/ complex 2D designs using Points, Lines, Arcs, Polylines, Polygon, Line dialogs, Arc dialogs, Offset, Text & Arc text commands

• Modifying/ Editing using Translate, Rotate, Mirror, Scale, Project & Transpose, edit multiples, Explode, Trim, Blend and chamfer commands

• Creating / Manipulating Workplanes

• Understanding concept and advantages of working with Layers & Structure Tree and differences between them.

• Direct Modelling- learning direct solid modelling concepts, creating/ manipulating using Cuboid, Cylinder, Prism, Cone, Blend, Boolean, chamfer Etc.

• Importing DXF drawings & creating solid models from the DXF

• Analyzing and validating surface and solid models and adding geometrical properties, mass to solids

• Creating a detailed engineering /Working 2D drawings from Solid/ Surface models

• Understanding the concept ’Reverse engineering’ and working with Mesh to generate Surface/ solid models

Overview

Building on the knowledge obtained in the Essential Designer course, candidates will focus on complex Surface design, modification and repair with intention of creating “watertight” Solid models.

Course duration: 1 Days

 Pre-Requisite:

Candidates must have completed following module:

• Essential Designer

• Understanding multi-bodied solids. When is a project a multi-bodied and when it is an assembly. Turning and Milling - CAD preparation for CAM.

• Creating simple & complex surfaces using the numerous surface creation options.

• Piped/Helical/Sweep /Auto constrained surfaces

• Creating Surface by points & Surface from area

• Modifying / Editing simple & complex surfaces

• Join, Extend surface, Trim, Blend faces and Draft commands

• Simplifying Edges

• Sew Sheets / Surface Orientation and converting solid to surfaces

• Creating solid models from surfaces

• Analysing surfaces and repairing the non-uniform surface entities in Designer

• Mold and Die - Split Lines and parting planes.

• Advanced CAD Prep for CAM applications

• Sectioning

• Creating BOM (Bill of Materials)

• Gears and Bevel gears

Building on the knowledge obtained in the Intermediate Designer course, candidates will now focus on the reverse engineering  of components using point cloud or mesh data.

Course duration: 1 Days
