There are two pathways that students can opt to complete:
AP Physics 2 & embedded Engineering Applications
Honors Physics & embedded Engineering Applications
The 11th-grade RISE program is designed to prepare students for the culminating phase of their academic and career pathway. Throughout the year, students will continue to refine the four core competencies of the RISE framework: Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration. These skills will be embedded in daily instruction as well as in long‑term projects.
As part of their coursework, students will select and participate in a Project‑Based Learning (PBL) experience, with the option to submit their work to the school or district science fair. Working in teams of two to three, students will design, develop, and present a project that integrates Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) from both the first and second semesters. This collaborative project will challenge students to apply their learning in meaningful ways while strengthening their readiness for future academic and career pursuits.
During this year, students are encouraged to explore real‑world learning opportunities—such as internships, apprenticeships, or other college and career readiness experiences—that they may pursue more fully during their senior year. As scheduling allows, students may also engage in résumé development, portfolio building, excel certification, and other preparatory activities that support their postsecondary goals.
Physics with embedded Engineering
Students are working on completing their Solar Harvesting Array (SHA) prototype #2. Students are able to choose their own design for prototype 2 just as long as they stay within the constraints of a structure that is limited to the use of certain materials, its ability to expand and contract in size, & follows initial sketch design.

Building of Prototypes
Students are working on completing their digital design in inventor for their skyscraper. Students are able to choose their own design for prototype 2 just as long as they stay within the constraints of a structure that is limited to 1.5m in height and a base that does not exceed the given limitations.
Certifications - AP Physics 1 or 2
Students are independently working through completing their excel certification. This is an independent assignment and students work at their own pace in the academy class to complete the learning modules. They must complete the modules and the excel certification test by the end of March. Students are able to choose which days during the week they will work on excel modules or another class.
Instructors check in with them on a monthly basis to make sure they are making adequate progress to complete the modules.
