Sut i helpu fy mhlentyn gyda'u hysgrifennu? Maent yn ddihyder neu'n gwrthod gwneud tasgau gwaith cartref ysgrifennu!

• Trafodwch bwnc yr ysgrifennu gyda hwy- hyd yn oed os ydych yn trafod yn Saesneg a'u bod am ysgrifennu'n Gymraeg. Helpwch nhw i feddwl am syniadau a sut i ddatblygu eu syniadau drwy holi cwestiynau- Sut? Pam? Unrhyw beth arall?

• Cynlluniwch y gwaith fesul paragraff gyda nhw- pwyntiau bwled sydd yn awgrymu beth dylai fynd lle.

• Awgrymwch eu bod yn defnyddio'r 'rheol 10 munud' os ydynt yn gyndyn i ysgrifennu- hynny yw eich bod yn rhoi amserydd o 10 munud ac y gallant stopio ar ôl 10 munud os ydyn nhw eisiau ond bod rhaid ffocysu ar y dasg am y 10 munud- dim ffôn na theledu!

• Yn yr ysgol rydym yn defnyddio'r dechneg 'Ymestyn brawddegau' i ddatblygu gwaith dysgwyr- gwyliwch y fideo isod ac mae'n bosib bydd y dechneg yn eich helpu adref.

• Fel arfer bydd taflen yn cynnwys agoriadau brawddeg i'r dysgwyr ddefnyddio- ceisiwch eu hannog i'w defnyddio- gallant dicio nhw i ffwrdd ar ôl eu defnyddio.

• Os oes angen sgaffald pellach ar eich plentyn i gwblhau tasg- cysylltwch gyda'r ysgol a bydd modd i'r athrawon ddarparu un lle'n addas. 

How to help my child with their writing? They lack confidence or refuse to do writing homework tasks!

• Discuss the topic with them - even if you are discussing in English and they need to write in Welsh. Help them think of ideas and how to develop their ideas by asking questions - How? Why? Anything else?

• Plan the work paragraph by paragraph with them - bullet points that suggest what should go where.

• Suggest that they use the '10 minute rule' if they are reluctant to write - give a timer of 10 minutes and that they can stop after 10 minutes if they want but that they have to focus on the task for the 10 minutes - no phone or TV!

• At the school we use the 'Extending sentences' technique to develop learners' work - watch the video below and it's possible the technique will help you at home.

• Usually there will be sentence stems provided  for the learners to use - try to encourage your child to use them - they can tick them off one by one. 

• If your child needs a further scaffold to complete a task - contact the school and the teachers will be able to provide guidence where appropriate.
