Expectations and Procedures 2024-2025
Ms. Kirkland’s Classroom
Only Enter the classroom if a teacher is in the room.
Have all of your supplies.
Sharpen your pencil at the start of class. Do NOT get up once class has started.
Raise your hand for permission to speak or to get out of your seat. You may NOT wander the classroom!
Trash should be thrown away at the end of class, not during class.
No food or drinks, including gum or candy, are allowed in my room unless I give them to you.
Keep all hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Come in ready to learn and be your BEST self every day!
I understand that:
my phone is to be off and in my book bag at all times - NO EXCEPTIONS.
if I am caught with my phone, it will be confiscated, taken to the office, and a parent or guardian will have to come and pick it up.
if I am caught with my phone and refuse to surrender it, it will be grounds for out-of-school suspension.
at no time am I to video or take pictures of anyone or anything while on school grounds.
Hall
Walk on the right side of the hall in a line facing the front.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times!
Restroom
Restroom expectations will be gone over at the beginning of the class year. Students should always meet expectations described in the school handbook.
Cafeteria
Decide before entering the cafeteria what you want for lunch and go directly to that line; do not change lines.
Get everything you need when you go through the line. You will not be allowed to get back up.
Sit at your assigned table, eat quietly the first 10 minutes, and talk quietly only to students sitting close to you (at the same table).
Throw all trash/food away in an orderly manner when your teacher dismisses you. (make sure you leave your area clean)/
Food and drinks MUST NOT be taken out of the cafeteria.
Other
IDs should be worn at all times. If you do not have yours, you must purchase a temporary ID before coming to 1st period.
“Teacher Zones” are off limits for students.
Dress code will be enforced. Refer to the Students Rights and Responsibilities booklet.
Northside Middle School AUP Chromebook Policy
I understand that the Chromebook provided to me by Greenwood School District 50 is school property and subject to search at any time. I am expected to treat this as public technology and follow all rules in the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) of Northside Middle School and Greenwood School District 50.
I am responsible for:
the upkeep of my laptop.
reporting broken laptops immediately.
all material that is researched, viewed, or saved on my laptop.
following all rules and regulations in the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) of both NMS and Greenwood School District 50 when using my laptop and all other technology.
following all rules and regulations of NMS and Greenwood School District 50 to use the internet safely and properly.
not using my laptop for social media, media applications, or anything that is not considered safe or appropriate in the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) of NMS or Greenwood School District 50.
following all classroom rules for acceptable use of the Chromebook.
erasing all materials that may have been used at home off of my laptop when it is brought to school.
I understand that there is a “three strike” policy for my Chromebook. Once my Chromebook has been taken by any adult three times, I will permanently lose my Chromebook until a parent or guardian comes in to have a conference with the team and administration.
