GWAPA Nominations AY 2023-2024
Dear Parents, Carers and GEMS World Academy Community,
As we approach the end of the academic year, we are excited to invite you to become an integral part of our Academy community by joining GWAPA as we launch the nomination process for the new GWAPA team for the academic year 2023-2024.
GWAPA play a vital role in fostering a strong and supportive environment for our students, parents, and staff. It serves as a platform for collaboration, communication, and engagement, allowing parents to contribute their unique perspectives and skills to enhance the educational experience for everyone.
If you are passionate about making a difference, supporting student initiatives, and building strong connections with other parents and staff, we invite you to complete the nomination form linked below. The deadline for nominations is Friday 23 June 2023 16:00, and we will be conducting elections shortly thereafter.

AN UNMISSABLE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR CHILDREN
TO BE TAUGHT BY WEST END STARS
For the very first time, West End Stage will bring their world-famous ultimate theatre Summer School to Dubai.
This amazing 5-day course offers students the opportunity to be taught by West End stars and leading industry professionals in acting, singing, dancing, and musical theatre. Throughout the week, students will rehearse some of the biggest numbers from the biggest musicals, past and present, which will then be performed to a packed audience of friends and family in a beautiful 750-seat theatre.
On top of this, the summer school will include exclusive workshops based on the hit musicals Six, Wicked, and Hamilton.
Students build their confidence, learn new skills, make friends for life, and have fun!

What West End Stage offers students:

* An intensive week of theatre training in Acting, Singing, Dance, and Musical Theatre

Congratulations to Yasmine Al-Sabih on getting the gold in the 50m breast at the Hamilton Development Series on 10 June 2023.
Talya's Triumph in Egypt: A Stellar Debut for Syria's National Gymnast at Pharaoh's International Cup.
For the first time, Talya showcased her exceptional skills with not one, not two, but FOUR apparatus (Ball, Clubs, Hoop, and Ribbon) in the FIG International competition! It was a remarkable milestone in her gymnastics career, filled with nerve-wracking challenges and thrilling performances.
What makes this achievement even more extraordinary is that Talya stood as the sole Syrian National gymnast, bravely competing against world-class teams from around the globe. Her unwavering dedication and determination shone brightly, as she carried the pride of her country on her shoulders.
This unforgettable experience has left an indelible mark on Talya's journey towards her dreams. She has shown incredible grace, talent, and resilience throughout the competition, reminding us all of the power of chasing our passions and embracing new opportunities.
Join us in celebrating Talya's outstanding performance and wishing her continued success on her path towards achieving greatness!

Lost & Found
Please ensure to check the Lost & Found boxes in front of the cafeteria for water bottles, lunchboxes, uniform jackets, swim kits etc.. before the end of Term.
All electronic items such as ipads, headphones and personal items like wallets and sunglasses are kept in Reception.
Items will be disposed of and donated over the summer break if not collected.
