Welcome to Summer SOAR 2026 Online Enrollment
Summer SOAR (Secondary Options for Academic Recovery) provides Grain Valley students with opportunities for credit recovery, virtual electives, A+ tutoring, and enrichment courses.
Enrollment is now open for:
Incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students (Middle School, 2026–27 School Year)
Incoming 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Students (High School, 2026–27 School Year)
What to Expect During Enrollment
The enrollment process is new this year — please take a moment to read about your student's grade level before you begin.
Middle School Summer SOAR is designed to give incoming middle schoolers a genuine taste of middle school life! Students rotate through different classes with different teachers throughout the day — similar to how the school year works. During enrollment, you'll rank your student's top 6 class choices. We'll use your preferences to build their schedule, though selections are subject to availability.
High school students may enroll in one or more of the following pathways. You'll be guided through the options that apply to your student during enrollment.
Credit Recovery: If your student has courses that qualify for credit recovery, those options will be displayed automatically based on their academic record and current availability.
In-Person Electives: Students may take up to 2 courses during June, earning 0.5 elective credits per course (up to 1.0 credit total) toward graduation.
Virtual Elective Courses (LAUNCH): Flexible online options including PE, Personal Finance, Driver's Education, and more. Each course earns 0.5 credits. Students are able to take a maximum of one course in June and one course in July.
A+ Tutoring: Students looking to complete tutoring hours for the A+ Program over the summer may sign up to tutor at either the elementary or middle school summer school program.

High School -- Virtual Session 1: June 1 – June 28, 2026
High School -- Virtual Session 2: July 1 – July 28, 2026
