Body Material
-Lexan
Lexan is a transparent plastic (polycarbonate) of high impact strength, used for cockpit canopies, bulletproof screens, etc.
We will be using Lexan to make the of the body
Material List
Lexan
3/4 self tapping screws
20 gauge sheet metal
Screws
We used 3/4 inch self taping screws to secure the Lexan to the frame
Under-body
We used 20 gauge sheet metal and cut it out to fit the dimensions of our design. It will be attached to the bottom of the frame.
Fabrication
We measured out the dimensions and drew them onto the sheet metal. We then used tin snips to cut out the outline.
Finished Cut Out Under-body
This is the finished cut out bottom for the frame compared to the original dimensions.
Heat-gun was used as an experiment to bend the poly carbonate sheet to desired shape.
