Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that every person has a right to a quality and respectful education. I believe that public education is an essential pillar of any democracy. My teaching philosophy incorporates student’s individual interests and hinges on their contributions. In doing so, this makes my class relevant to each person, fosters responsibility, and creates lifelong learners. Students can expect me to get to know them, be available, and treat them with dignity. Learning is easiest when you feel supported and accepted. I expect learners to display professionalism, individuality, and creativity. I use humor, current events, music, and popular culture in my lessons often. Technology is an essential piece of my curriculum and will be used daily. My instruction and classroom should be a reflection of my current students and because of that are ever changing.
