How does it Work?
Ms. Stafford, GHS’s Wellness Center Coordinator and Restorative Practices Coach, helps students find solutions and repair relationships. This is achieved through respectful conversations that have agreed-upon rules and that work for everyone involved.
Why is it important?
Finding resolutions to conflicts together helps us build a healthy school community. When we take the time to work things out we have the chance to repair harm and restore relationships together.
The Olivia Macaulay Restorative Practices Center
Olivia Macaulay began working in the GUSD in 2002 and earned Teacher of the Year in 2012. She traveled on Fulbright scholarships and impacted her students and colleagues at Glendale High School in extraordinary ways, emphasizing the importance of communication and treating everyone with kindness, dignity and empathy.
The GHS community decided that Olivia's old classroom is the perfect place for supporting and continuing to nurture these values.
