You will complete your first assignment for the course over the summer. The assignment consists of reading a novel and completing a project that reflects the reading. The assignment must be completed and turned in by August 22, 2025. In addition to having completed both the reading and the project, you may be given an assessment over the required reading (that you chose from the list) during the first few weeks of school. ** Failure to successfully complete the required project and/or assessment will result in removal from the honors course.**
When choosing your book try to avoid ruling books out due to the cover or page numbers. When you discount books based on these factors, you may miss out on a great reading experience.

Choose ONE (1) book from below to read for your project.
Before making your final choice, be sure you research the novel to make sure it is one you and your parents/guardians will approve of you reading. Amazon Review, Common Sense Media Reviews, and reading the first chapter of the book could be helpful when making your decision.
