Classism is prejudice against or in favor of people belonging to a particular social class. Classism mostly discriminates against people in lower social classes. Classism is for many a taboo and is not very talked about compared to other isms.
Racism and Classism are closely linked because of immigration in the US, there are no laws against classism in the US but laws against racism have been passed by the federal government, giving equal opportunity to everyone in the US, other laws have been passed against racism for example the Voting Rights act. Sometimes these laws are overlooked and many times nothing is done about it because acting against a racist comment would violate freedom of speech this is still very controversial topic in the US.
