Is E=mc2 independent or dependent research?

E=mc2 involves the aid of mentors who comment and guide on the research we as "Emcrs" are conducting. The projects and journals on the websites are completely up to the students including the grading of them. Therefore, the expectations and effort is in the hands of the students resulting in more motivated & unique work for our good rather than a simple grade.
