Mrs. Gockley grew up in Saratoga Springs, where she was encouraged to enroll in many art classes as a high school student. She loved being in the art room and the positive experiences within these classes encouraged her to further her education in the field. She began her first teaching job in the GCSD in 1999, and has taught all middle school levels of art, foundation high school art courses, a variety of intermediate level classes such as: traditional wet Photography, Sculpture, Drawing and Painting, as well as the advanced level art courses: Portfolio Prep, Advanced Art I, Advanced Art II, and currently AP Art. While she supports technology in art, she has a fondness for traditional, hands-on mediums such as Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. “There is something special about the process of making or building something tangible with your hands that cannot be replicated, no matter how hard technology tries.”
