The first set of vocabulary words you will study this year focuses on important qualities and characteristics of strong students. Study the terms, their parts of speech, and their definitions in preparation for the start of the school year. Expect a quiz over these vocabulary words at the start of the semester.
Expectations for vocabulary notes:
The slides are intentionally arranged to help you format your notecards. Make sure you follow all directions and format your notecards properly to ensure success. Your handwriting should be legible as these notecards are used all year.
You should hole punch your notecards and keep them safe on a ring. Be mindful of where you are punching your notecards; too close to the edge makes them more likely to rip, yet too far in could impact what you already wrote. It would be wise to set your hole punch first before you start writing your notes.
The unit, word, and part of speech are clearly legible.
The definition is on the top left, the synonyms are on the top right, and the sentence is copied on the bottom with the word clearly marked.
