At Independence High School, our goal is to help every student succeed after graduation. There are several options for students who go on to vocational or career training programs after high school instead of college.
Talk to your counselor or case manager to figure out what path is the best fit for you and your goals.

Project SEARCH is an international program model empowering young adults with significant disabilities to make a successful transition from school to adult life. Participants are taught relevant, marketable skills while immersed in the working world. The Project SEARCH Transition Program is a unique, business-led, one-year school-to-work program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations. West-MEC is proud to partner with Project SEARCH and offer these services to our community.
At Phoenix Job Corps Center, we support the Job Corps program’s mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.
