Advanced Placement
The Advanced Placement Program (AP) helps students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. Students may be eligible for college credit depending on their score(s) and university admission(s). In the Glendale Union High School District, students do not pay for AP exams so that every student has equal access to work toward earning college credit in high school.

SAT
The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), now called the SAT Reasoning Test, measures the reading, writing and math levels of high school juniors and seniors.
The SAT is used by many colleges as admissions criteria. Please check with individual college websites to see if the SAT is required.

ACT
ACT
The American College Test (ACT), measures a high school graduate's preparation for college-level work, including: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. Juniors at GHS will take the ACT at school in April and the fee is covered by the Glendale Union High School District.

PRE-ACT
PRE-ACT
The Pre-ACT help students get a better sense of where they would score on the ACT and how much more they need to prepare before taking it. Students gain practice in a shorter time frame with a similar level of difficulty as the ACT. Sophomores at GHS may sign up to take the Pre-ACT in October during school.
PSAT
PSAT
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), provides sophomores and juniors with practice for the SAT. In addition, scores from the PSAT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Sophomores and juniors at GHS may sign up to take the PSAT in October during school. Please see the Counseling Office for more information.
ASVAB
ASVAB
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-choice exam that measures strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success and provides career information for various civilian and military occupations and may also be used as qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. The ASVAB is administered at no cost to juniors at GHS in August during school.
