FAFSA
BIG CHANGES COMING TO THE FAFSA!
In the past, the FAFSA form was available beginning on October 1. This year the FAFSA won’t be available until DECEMBER 31ST. Please follow Federal Student Aid for more information.
STEP 1 - TO DO NOW
To create an FSA ID, each person needs to go to studentaid.gov and click “Create Account” in the upper right-hand corner. The application is available in English and Spanish. Determine which parent is considered a Contributor for the FAFSA.
WHO SHOULD DO THIS? The student AND one parent/guardian (<- new name is "Contributor")
Each person will need the following:
Full name and social security number as they appear on social security card (if applicable)
Date of birth
Valid email address and phone number
Immediate access to your email account
Your residential address
Please note: If you have a sibling who attended college before you, your parent or guardian may already have an FSA ID.
STEP 2 - fill out the fafsa after december 31st
COMPLETE THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA)
The most important step to receive financial aid (including some scholarships) is to complete the FAFSA. To complete the FAFSA, visit Federal Student Aid.
Students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after December 31st, 2023.

The 2024-2025 FAFSA is required for financial aid for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.
The 2024-2025 FAFSA uses income from 2022.
The IRS Data Retrieval Tool is available for the 2024-2025 FAFSA. This will pull your 2022 income information straight from your tax return and input it into the FAFSA. If you are ineligible, you will need your 2022 Federal tax returns and W-2 forms to complete the FAFSA.
