This course provides an overview of the principles of child development. Students explore the stages of growth and learning from birth through age eight, gaining insights into how to support young children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
This is offered as a two-credit course that focuses on preschool-age development. Students gain hands-on experience by designing lessons and activities to implement in the preschool. Students are also involved in leadership opportunities in FCCLA.
This course is designed to be taken simultaneously with Early Childhood Education. Students implement original lesson plans and gain hands-on work experience in a preschool setting. Students also receive on-the-job training and industry certifications.
