Video Conferencing Guidelines
for live online classes, tutorials, and office hour sessions
for live online classes, tutorials, and office hour sessions
Until we return to a "traditional" school day, we will have between 1 - 4 hours of live class sessions each week of school. A "live" class can either be a class you attend in person on campus OR one your attending via a video conferencing app.
The number and starting times of our live classes will depend on the On-campus Level and current community health conditions. The most current information about times and digital locations for live sessions will always be posted in the Daily Class Announcements.
You are expected to attend the live sessions. Attendance (absences and tardies) will be recorded - just like regular class. If you are absent (excused absence) for one of our sessions, you will be able to make up the work missed but you will (obviously) miss out on the instruction that was given during class.
Typically, office hour sessions will be on Mondays (time TBD). Occasionally, there may be optional tutorial sessions sprinkled in throughout the week. Again, the length and number of sessions will depend on the current On-campus Level as well as student need/demand. Attendance for the tutorial and office hours sessions is always optional. All office hour sessions and tutorial sessions will be posted in the Daily Class Announcements.
The District supports three video meeting platforms: ZOOM, Google Meet, and the Conferencing App in Schoology. We will be using all three video conferencing apps at some point during the school year. Each day, I will choose the app that best meets our needs for that session. The Daily Announcements will always post which meeting app we are using for instruction.

While we will review best practices during class at the beginning of the school year, please review the GUHSD Video Conferencing Responsible Use Agreements below.
Having technical issues? See if these help before posting to the Question Parking Lot.
Watch this GUHSD produced video to help you get Zoom properly installed on your Chromebook.
