-Use a Google Form
-Have students share their "view published site" link
This is an ongoing issue I face. To help with the sharing issue, I have students create a folder in their Google Drive titled "MATH". I have them change the share setting on this folder to "anyone with this link can view". As long as all projects are placed in this folder, they will be shared properly.
My students complete one project per unit of study, but digital portfolios can be used more or less frequently.
In one of my classes I allow one day per unit in class for portfolio project work time. In the other class, the portfolio projects are done outside of class time and students spend one period per unit in class in order to present portfolios to their peers and provide feedback.
In one class the projects account for 15% of their overall grade and is in place of a final exam. In another class, digital portfolios account for 10% of the overall grade and the final exam accounts for 10%.
Digital portfolios can take the place of certain assignments. Instead of the day-to-day rhythm of collecting homework that may or may not be getting a student's best effort, a digital-portfolio-worthy task can provide a way for students to show understanding of the same content in a way that appeals to the student.
