Page Layout
When you add a page to your digital portfolio, you will will probably also be adding content to that page: words, pictures, videos, and more.
Generally speaking, the layout of any given page on your digital portfolio will serve the needs of the page's purpose:
Did you make this page to show that you understand something?
Did you make this page to keep track of your progress through a project?
Did you make this page so that it could be a blog where you reflect on your learning in class?
Did you make this page in order to have a visual aid for your presentation?
Whatever your reason was for creating the page, plan a layout that makes sense for your reason.
For example, students in a science class were creating digital portfolio pages to:
prove they learned a scientific concept
give evidence from their work showing what they learned (pictures/screenshots)
explain how the evidence proves that they learned (paragraphs next to pictures)
make connections to other content areas
reflect on what they learned
In order to do all that, their teacher told them to follow the layout pattern that you see in the video to the right.
Notice that the layout in the video includes paragraphs to explain the pictures.
