2021 El Capitan High School PTSA Scholarship

The El Capitan PTSA is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships to assist PTSA Student Members in pursuing their education goals after high school.

PTSA MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED in order to qualify for a scholarship. If you are not currently a PTSA member, you can join on our Membership page for $10.

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements:

The Applicant must be a Senior of El Capitan High School graduating June 2021.

The Applicant must be a member of the El Capitan High School PTSA.

The Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.O verified by the office.

The Applicant must show some combination of academic achievement/awards, extra-curricular activities, community/volunteer activity, club involvement or work experience.

A recommendation letter on behalf of the Applicant must be submitted by an El Capitan High School teacher, counselor or administrator to the Scholarship Committee via email at by the deadline.

Essay Submissions must be sent to the Scholarship Committee at with the subject, "Scholarship Essay" by Friday, May 7, 2021, by 5 p.m. PST. Late entries will not be accepted.

Please use Times New Roman, size 12 font, double spaced to answer the following short essay questions. Examples of your volunteer work, awards, sports involvement, work experience and club involvement are all encouraged to be used to highlight your answers. Each answer should be between 150-250 words. Please include your name and ID number on the header for each page submitted. All three questions must be answered in order to qualify. Submit the essay questions in a Word document via email to: for review by the Scholarship Committee no later than May 7, 2021 at 5 p.m. PST. Late submissions will not be accepted.

3. Briefly describe some short term and long-term goals you have set with respect to your future academic or career endeavors after high school.
