Growing Up Green artists are encouraged to solve problems, establish relationships and learn to think critically as well as creatively. Our visual art program is a place to “play with purpose.” Students experiment with materials, develop artistic skills, learn new techniques, make mistakes and get messy! We believe that making art provides students with valuable opportunities to practice and develop social-emotional skills such as cooperation, empathy and compromise. We also believe that contemporary artists (artists who are alive and making art today) are powerful creative role models!
