Secret Handshake

Ask students to contribute moves, and once you’ve decided on the sequence of the moves, photograph a pair of students completing each step of the sequence.

Discuss with students what would happen if they got the secret handshake wrong, and connect this with the importance of sequencing correctly.

Sequences and Direction

Get into groups of three and give each person a number between 1 and 3.
Your teacher will give you a location in the room to start.
Your teacher will give you a finishing point in the room to end.
Player 1 is blind folded.
Player 2 is to give only the following instructions to get Player 1 to the end point - Move Forward 1,2 or 3 Steps, Turn Left, Turn right, Move backwards 1, 2 or 3 Steps.
Player 3 records the path that Player 1 takes. Print out these cards as a way of recording.
Once Player 1 reaches the end point, the team start at the beginning and use Player 3's instructions to reach the end point again.
