The study abroad program was designed to provide participants with a rich academic and cultural immersion experience across several cities in China. Throughout the program, students completed coursework at partner institutions, delivered presentations about Gateway Technical College, and participated in business and industry visits, including meetings and interviews with representatives from leading Chinese organizations and global companies.

A key component of the program was fostering cross-cultural collaboration. Students worked alongside their Chinese peers on academic and cultural activities while also participating in introductory Chinese language instruction and broader cultural learning experiences. These opportunities allowed participants to develop intercultural communication skills and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese customs, traditions, and everyday life.

In addition to their academic experiences, students visited a variety of significant cultural, educational, and business sites, including universities, companies, temples, museums, and imperial palaces. Together, these experiences provided valuable insight into both the historical heritage and modern development of Chinese society, creating a well-rounded and transformative international learning experience.
