About Me
Meet the Teacher
Dear Families,
I am so excited to be your child’s second grade teacher this year, with that said, I thought you might want to get to know me a little better before the school year kicks off. This will be my third year teaching second grade at County Line. I have an Art Therapy degree that I attained at Mount Mary College and received my Elementary 1-6 teaching license from Cardinal Stritch University. This will be my 9th year teaching in the primary grades. I taught three years in Sussex, two years in Milwaukee and in between those, I subbed in the Germantown, Menomonee Falls and Hamilton Sussex School Districts for 8 years. I love the energy these second graders bring. I’m going to enjoy getting to know each one of them and have fun as we learn each and every day. This is a difficult time that we are all going through right now and I intend to cultivate the social emotional needs of my class. Their well-being is my utmost priority. In order for your child to grow to his/her true potential, I feel it’s vital to work together to make this happen. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns.
Beyond that, I recently bought my first house in Sussex. It is a fixer upper and definitely keeps me busy with the multitude of projects. I have two boys, Carson, who is almost thirteen (Oh my!) and Noah, who is 10. Baseball is one way we stay busy during the spring and summer months. Of course, this past season was a little different. Carson has played with the Jr. Chargers for five years now and Noah has played with the Lannon Stonemen for three years. We LOVE baseball. We usually travel to a Major League Stadium to catch a baseball game. We usually try to find one when the Brewers are playing that team. Last year we traveled to Cleveland, Ohio to see our 7th major league baseball stadium. So far we have been to Chicago, Minnesota, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Kansas City and of course, Miller Park. This year, instead of a major league stadium we traveled to Myrtle Beach for a baseball tournament called the Cal Ripken Experience. Carson’s team had been fundraising for four years to go to this tournament. We did our best to social distance and enjoyed our time playing and watching baseball, as well as enjoying the days on the beach. When I’m not at a baseball game, I’m of course working on the house but also taking the time to garden, take tons of pictures, go kayaking and spend quality time with my family. The boys and I love playing board games, playing cards, playing ping pong and going to the park to play kickball.
I will be asking the kids to list many of their favorite things the first week of school, so I’ll give them a heads up on some of my favorites.
