“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”
-Albert Einstein
In 2025, third graders have spent their entire lives receiving information and feedback quickly, whether it’s a 30 second commercial on television, a two minute video on YouTube, or reaching a new level on an Xbox game. Due to society’s ever-increasingly rapid way of living, I see that students expect their learning to come just as quickly and become frustrated if it doesn’t come right away.
I am challenging students this year to do the unimaginable…fail.
So often, society views failure as a sign of weakness and incompetence. Instead, students need to realize that failure is an important part of meaningful learning.
I will help your student through feedback and guidance in order for them to understand new learning through effort and persistence.
Growth Mindset
Smart is something you become, not something you are.
Germantown School District’s initiative is “Building a foundation for success in every child.” While I understand that every child has strengths and some have a greater degree of strengths than others, I also firmly believe that intelligence is malleable and students can grow through high effort, persistence, grit, and determination. During the year, your child will be taught how their brains learn, given numerous opportunities for critical thinking, participating in high-interest learning opportunities, all in a safe, positive environment.
