About Me

After several years of working as a writer, editor, and designer at newspapers, I felt the need to "give back." So, in 2002, I became a teacher.

After completing Georgia's TAPP (Teacher Alternative Preparation Program) while I taught at Taylor Street Middle School, I began graduate work, earning a M.Ed. from Troy University (instructional technology) and an Ed.D. from Argosy University (teaching and learning, K-12 curriculum and instruction).

I have been a Teacher of the Year, a Georgia Master Teacher, and this year serve as our team's MTSS chair.

My hobbies include playing the banjo (since age 10), riding my road bikes, and being outdoors. This past year, I got my hunting license and deer hunted for the first time (unsuccessfully so!).
