Greenhouse Effect Information:

The greenhouse effect is a process that warms the earth. The greenhouse effect releases a gas called Carbon Dioxide and with the component of the hydrosphere, the ocean is affected greatly by the emission of CO2. A picture from www.Britannica.com (See figure 1) shows how the atmospheric CO2 is assimilated by phytoplankton in the ocean. The ocean is a very important sink of Carbon Dioxide.
