Pass Christian Elementary School students learned about the importance of giving and caring about others through character education lessons presented by PCES Counselor Mrs. Emily Snell during their library visits this holiday season. They were able to put their lessons into action when the school partnered with the Resilience of Coastal Kids Foundation (ROCK) to collect clothing, personal items, and toys for foster children. The ROCK Foundation was started by five women on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and their mission is to raise awareness of and make a difference in the lives of local children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect and placed in foster homes or youth shelters. Students brought in specific items each day, such as toys, coloring books, and clothing. Thanks to their generosity many foster children will know that there are people in the community who care about them during the holidays and throughout the year!
Pass Christian Elementary School kicked off the new year with Kindness!! The R.A.K. club (Random Acts of Kindness), spearheaded by second grade Explore students, have created a January Kindness Calendar that will be displayed in the PCES café. The R.A.K. club brainstormed simple ways that we, as a school, can all show kindness to each other throughout the day. The goal of the R.A.K. club and the January Kindness Calendar is to build each other up and to encourage and support one another! Each morning during announcements, PCES students will be challenged to complete a random act of kindness. As the random acts of kindness are unveiled each day, they will serve as a reminder throughout the month that kindness is contagious, so let’s pass it on each and every day!

Our school believes that serving society is the best thing we can do. We have allowed the nearby village children to study in our school library on Sundays and other holidays. We teach and guide them. We have made items from waste materials and sold them to collect money for supplies of poor children. We donated that money to nearby village school's students.
We visited special needs school and spent quality time with them and distributed notebooks and clothes.
