I enjoyed thinking of the questions. Coming up with the questions was a challenge. I found the part when I was programming the pet to broadcast things was the best because I didn’t know how to do that before now. The most challenging part was probably understanding that some things are impossible to do under 45 mins in class. because I had SO MANY good ideas.
I had never made a big Scratch project before and so I really enjoyed researching what different blocks do and how to make a timer. I also had no idea of how to use a variable before. In my project I got a lot of bugs in the script and it was a very long and hard process solving them; but also a fun one! At one point I tried to add in a skip button and it managed to mess up all the questions!
I loved trying to add a pong game into the project. I had a laptop in the project and when you clicked it, it would zoom into a game of Pong. The process of making the pong game was great and also very challenging. It would be fun to make original backgrounds for my website using Google Drawings!
I really enjoyed thinking of good questions to add to my project and I also liked the challenge of thinking of a good answer to those question. I would add in some loops to make the script less complicated and big. I really enjoyed to add costumes to different sprites to make it look more like an animation.
Until I found out what Google Sites was, I had no idea on how to create a website but now I finally know
I enjoyed learning new and different types of coding and being able to start from scratch and use my imagination. The most challenging part was to test each button until i found the right piece of coding. Next time I would use more steps and make them clear to see what I'm doing better. I enjoyed being able to create my own game and retry the coding when it fails.
I enjoyed adding the sounds and the extra animation at the end of the gameshow to make it more interesting and attractive. The most challenging part of the gameshow was to check if all the code was correct because after I had thought I finished the whole gameshow was not functioning because one of the blocks I put in it was wrong. The most challenging part of making the virtual pet was thinking how fast the points go down so that the virtual pet was not impossible to control and so it was not boring. The most challenging part of making the website was getting the video taken without anybody making noise and uploading it to Youtube.
What did I enjoy most about making the game show? The characters we got to use and the making of the show, behind the scenes. What would I do differently next time if I had the choice? Make my game show have sounds and cool effects.
What would I do differently next time if I had the choice? Get my pet to have more things that they need, for example a friend or something extra to my make the game show more enjoyable. What was the most challenging part of the project? Google has made it hard to change design ideas.
I enjoyed making the game show because I learned things that I did not know about Scratch. The most challenging part of the project was to figure out what we needed do to after the lesson.
I enjoyed making the gameshow because it made me think about the different responsibilities that we have and what rights we have. I am not really good at Scratch so it was difficult for me. There were a lot of steps in order to make the pet. Next time if I had the choice, I would make my pet be able to do more things than just eat and play.
One thing I enjoyed was bragging to people who didn’t know much about Scratch because they then looked up to me. Next time I would try to add better effects and such so things would be harder for me. This could also show me if there are any other features in Scratch than I already know of which is a lot.
The thing I enjoyed the most is play testing my virtual pet because I could be proud of what I have programmed. The most challenging part was making the grey screen flash up and down with the same key. (It was actually pretty easy once I figured it out). I would have liked to add special secret stages but I thought it would take too long and I’m a pretty lazy person.
I have had a very fun time being in Global Virtual Classroom. My partner and I worked on children's rights, which was very fun. It was great working with everyone! - Hannah B., Gulfport, Mississippi, USA
