At VJM we believe that options create pathways to student passions and unforeseen ability which is why we offer a variety of options that appeal to students from all walks of life. VJM's Technical Theatre program is perfect for those who love the performing arts but prefer working behind the scenes. Students will work through curriculum components by studying elements of Technical Theatre such as costumes, props, scenery, lights, audio, and more. Whenever possible, students will learn about these elements by working on actual productions here at VJM or next door at SACHS. Other elements will be covered by working on projects for hypothetical performances based on student interest. If you're an artist, designer, builder, fashionista, tech whiz, actor, manager, or creative problem solver, we want you on our tech team!
I love Tech Theatre because it allows me to express my creativity and explore all kinds of crafts that I would never have even thought of before taking this course!

Tech 7 students are currently designing and creating props for Shrek the Musical. While these props will not be used in an actual performance, they allow students a chance to practice before making props for SACHS which will be used in their show!
Tech 9 students are practicing logo design using Canva for Education and printing them onto fabric using heat transfer paper. After creating their own designs, they will begin working on costumes for the SACHS musical!
