Land Building Maintenance Committee (LBMC)

As per the University Act No. 16 of 1978, it is the responsibility of the University Council to provide the buildings, premises, furniture, equipment, and other material needed for carrying on the work of the University. Therefore, the Council has established Lands Building Maintenance Committee to fulfill this purpose to evaluate and recommend the project proposals to the Council related to Capital and rehabilitation projects and other matters related to the Land, Building, and maintenance of the University.

Infrastructure Development Management Committee (IDMC)

Infrastructure development and facility management are substantial issues faced by the University of Peradeniya. At the Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee meeting held on 16th August 2021, the members discussed the issues related to the university’s physical infrastructure requirements, and improvements. It was highlighted that a carefully articulated infrastructure development plan based on the current utilization patterns and future needs would be extremely helpful to strategize university infrastructure development and management. Establishing such an orderly arrangement will also avoid frustration resulting from the stunning progress of construction/improvement projects.

     The IDMC shall consist of :

• Deputy Vice Chancellor (Chairman). 

• Three UGC appointed members.

• Dean, Faculty of Engineering.

• Dean of a Faculty appointed by the council.

• Chairperson, Staff Residence Committee.

• One academic member appointed by the Council.

• Registrar.
