The Council & Academic Division handles the proceedings related to the University Council (highest administrative authority) and the Senate (highest academic authority), including the following Senate subcommittees.

1. Academic Development & Planning Committee (ADPC)

2. Senate Research Committee (SRC)

3. English Language Teaching Committee (ELTC)

4. Senate Publications Committee (SPC)

5. Senate Library Committee (SLC)

The division also oversees the administration (excluding financial transactions) of University Research Grants and Postgraduate Research Fellowships. The financial transactions related to these are handled by the Financial Administration Division and the Bursars of Faculties and Postgraduate Institutes.
